Highlights of SSDA 2009 Annual Meeting

Member representatives and the VIPs gathered at the Sherwood Hotel Taipei this afternoon for SSD Alliance's first ever annual meeting. The VIP panel is filled with leaders of IC-Design House, Module Makers and Test Lab such A-Data, Allion, CoreSolid, ITE, JMicron, Phison, PQI, Hugetech, Silicon Power, SSS and more. SSDA Chairman Mr. Summer Chien opens the event by welcoming all the guests and attendees and commending on the hard works and efforts contributed by the members and the SSDA staffs throughout the year
. "It is not easy to run an organization", Said Summer Chien. "We've spent great deal of time, manpower and efforts to promote the group to the worldwide industry, and I would encourage all the member companies to do the same to entail the success of this Alliance."
"It is time for us to move on, and it is time for us to embrace the PC makers." Said Mr. Daniel Huang, who speaks on behalf of SSDA Vice Chair. "PC industry is the mainstream users in the market share of the SSDs, and it is them who would decide when SSD technology would take off in the consumer market, and we expect to see new members from the PC industry as a new year resolution in 2010."
The meeting concluded with A-Data's presentation on the trend of SSD, and the reporting from both the Marketing and the Compliance Committees by directors Anne Tsou and Mark Lai. The topics have included the review of 2009, financial status, event look back and the recent summary of Windows 7 Blind Test effort from Allion Test Labs.
